Our news brief covers a recent marine-power exhibition. We separate the manufacturer’s account from the questions we recommend overseas buyers ask before preparing an equipment or spare-parts enquiry.
What did Weichai report in Fuzhou?
According to Weichai Group’s report dated 21 October 2026, the company exhibited marine engines, generator sets and battery products at the World Maritime Equipment Conference in Fuzhou, Fujian, held from 16 to 19 October. The display included diesel and methanol power, marine battery packs and low-noise generator sets for different vessel applications. The report also describes a digital vessel-support platform for engine monitoring and remote maintenance. These are company-reported capabilities, rather than independently verified results for a particular vessel or a confirmed offer from Weichaistore.
What does the report establish for a buyer?
We treat an exhibition report as a starting point for a technical conversation. It is not an itemized quotation, a service manual or an application approval. A product family name cannot establish the exact configuration, supporting equipment or replacement reference required by your vessel. Ask the proposed supplier to identify the actual item and provide the documents relevant to that offer.
We also separate an engine from a complete propulsion package or generator set. Before comparing prices, establish which assembly is being discussed and which components are included. Record any controller, cooling arrangement, mounting interface or associated equipment that still needs review. Those are our purchasing recommendations. They should be resolved with the responsible supplier and qualified marine technical team.
Our purchasing commentary: identify the installed system first
For a spare-parts enquiry, we recommend starting with the installed engine or generator nameplate, complete model designation and serial number. Add the component reference, photographs of its markings and the quantity required. Keep propulsion, auxiliary-power and other onboard equipment on separate lines when their identities differ. Similar-looking components should remain separate until their application is confirmed.
If your enquiry concerns a replacement package, describe the vessel’s intended duty and the existing installation. Ask which technical documents the supplier needs to review the proposed scope. For an electrical package, have the project team define the required electrical characteristics and connection arrangements. We would keep unresolved technical points visible in the quotation instead of treating a delivery schedule as evidence that they are settled.
What information should an overseas enquiry contain?
We suggest using the following four-part enquiry record. It is our procurement framework, not a specification supplied by the manufacturer. For a mixed order, attach each photograph and document to the correct line item so that the purchasing team, supplier and workshop can review the same request.
| Enquiry topic | What we recommend recording |
|---|---|
| Installed equipment | Nameplate photographs, complete model, serial number and onboard application |
| Requested supply | Exact component references or package scope, quantities and included items |
| Technical review | Vessel duty, installation interfaces, required documents and unresolved questions |
| Commercial review | Destination, requested timing, packing needs and written quotation terms |
Confirm the proposed supply scope and document responsibilities before approving an order. Ask the supplier to distinguish confirmed information from items still awaiting technical review. Availability, lead time, warranty and support arrangements should come from the actual written offer; we do not infer them from an exhibition display.
For a parts enquiry, contact Weichaistore with the installed equipment details and the references you already have. Tell us which points remain uncertain. Our aim is to help turn a broad request into clear quotation lines, with application decisions reviewed by the appropriate technical team.
